Turning Tables: How Strategic Branding Propelled Momentum Advisory Collective’s National Impact
Momentum Advisory Collective: MAC’s original branding did not reflect the caliber of their mission or attract the attention of national audiences. We rebuilt the brand and the customer-facing system to match where the company was actually going.
Live since 2020
Misaligned Identity
Momentum Advisory Collective operates in education & non-profit · food & beverage — a category that demands its own kind of attention from the brand and the buyer journey both. The work that got the company this far had earned its market share. The brand and digital surface area weren’t carrying the weight at the same level the rest of the operation was.
MAC’s original branding did not reflect the caliber of their mission or attract the attention of national audiences. The logo and visual identity felt disconnected from their values of transformation and empowerment.
Need for Scalability
With plans to expand into 25 cities within ten years, including brick-and-mortar restaurants and pop-up programs, MAC needed a scalable, cohesive brand that could unify its initiatives across regions and demographics.
Communication Gaps
Their existing materials lacked clear messaging to articulate their mission to donors, policymakers, and the public. MAC needed a refined voice to showcase their holistic approach to juvenile justice reform and inspire action.
The brief was a system rebuild — the kind of work captured in our master frame: Comprehensive Brand Strategy. Brand strategy, identity refresh, customer-facing experience design, and the post-launch measurement framework that lets the in-house team extend the work without us in the room.
Comprehensive Brand Strategy
Cohesive Visual Identity
We designed a versatile brand system with applications for: Business cards, presentations, and playbooks.
Café Momentum Support
As part of the project, Commence Studio rebranded Café Momentum, MAC’s flagship program, to enhance its appeal and unify it under the parent organization’s updated identity.
Expanded Reach
The rebrand empowered MAC to expand into new cities, including Atlanta, Denver, and Pittsburgh. Their programs now serve over 1,200 youth, helping reduce recidivism and increase employability.
Stronger Advocacy
With updated materials and a professional online presence, MAC raised awareness about juvenile justice issues, influencing policy changes and inspiring community action.
Mission-led storytelling first, donate button second.
Site rebuilt around the mission narrative — beneficiary stories, program updates, and impact reporting. Donation flows live alongside, not in front of.
Donor + volunteer journey design.
Email + journey design tuned for the actual nonprofit funnel — first-time donor welcome, recurring-giving conversion, lapsed-donor reactivation.
